Debian is a popular and freely-available computer operating system that uses the Linux kernel and other program components obtained from the GNU project. The site’s current design lacks any visual styling, so I drew up a conceptual design along with a new logo.

The process began when I was attempting to download Debian myself. The current site is very information rich, but difficult to navigate and understand.
Once I was able to come to an understanding of how to download the OS, I mapped out the steps and drew up wireframes in Axure RP.
The logo was developed in 1999 and hasn’t been updated since, so I updated the logo and then moved on to skinning the wireframes into high fidelity designs.
The result is a much easier to navigate platform. All the information is easy to find whether you’re an existing user, a potential new user, or a Debian developer.
